programmatically detect WMI Service corrupt

1
I am trying to connect to the WMI Service on a remote PC but my script hangs at this line (GetObj("winmgmts:\\" & $strComputer & "\root\cimv2"). The service looks like it's running but I am not able to restart it. Usually a reboot or a repair works fixes the issue.

I come across a PC in this state from time to time so I would like to be able to programmatically detect if the WMI service is corrupt.

Thanks in advance!
