VB and where to start...

Hi, im new to this forum and have been very interested in VB script and creating .exe programs with it and stuff like that....
So what i am asking is where do i start to learn the basics, and i would prefer it to be quite easy to understand for a beginner. So basically if you have anything like a link to a website, a good book i could purchase that has good info and has been recommended it would be a great help =D
Thanks! =)

By the way, sorry if this is in the wrong thread.

I started quite a while ago using qbasic and bbc basic although I did not do very much using it so when I started looking at vb .net I picked up a copy of ' beginning visual basic 2005 '

Amazon link

I think that the books do help to give you a grounding and idea of object orientation, following on from that just play with the code and have FUN!

try different thing, look at peoples posts and try to work out the answers, think up simple projects or even just look at tasks you do often that a simple program might make easier.

there are MANY tutorials on the inet both on this site and others including Microsoft's MSDN that you can try out and change a bit to see what happens
