Hello ppl,
I have to make a mini-project in which we are supposed to have VB as front-end, oracle as back-end.
I have selected the topic for project; my forms, ideas all are ready but i dont know how do i connect the two VB and Oracle?
Actually we are supposed to store our data in Oracle.... i can do that.
and we are supposed to make forms in VB 6.0 i can do that too.
Small problem is how do i connect them?

Hi,

After Installing Oracle, You need to Create a Service for Oracle..
through Net Configuration Assistance..
In the Wizard, Select "Local Net Service Name"
and enter that service name, in the connectionstring..

Hi,

That's it, you will have to :

Install Oracle Properly
Database Has to Be Created
Schema/User Has to Be Created
TNSNames Should be Configured properly
ConnectionString should be written properly
