probleum in connecting with sql server 7.0 from vb6.0

i want to connect with sql server 7.0 from vb 6.0 and i use the following code
Set SqlCon = New ADODB.Connection
Set SqlRec = New ADODB.Recordset
gsConnectionString = "Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;User ID=" & SvrLogin & ";PWD=" & SvrPass & ";Data Source=" & SvrName & "; Initial Catalog= varinder
SqlCon.ConnectionString = gsConnectionString
SqlCon.Open

but it shows error "INVALID AUTHORIZATION SPECIFICATION"

please give some idea
