read data from device using vb6.0

hello everyone... what do i do/how do i write a code (in vb 6.0) to get streaming data from my device (for example GPS or motion sensor-adis16350)... what are the tricks to this one? where do i start? i wanted to get the readings directly into vb 6.0. (meaning i wouldn't need to open the software that comes with the device just to have an access to the data i need)

If it's possible through phone lines, it's possible through other components. Here is what I could find for you:

http://www.developerfusion.co.uk/show/5071/

Just to give you an diea. And if that does not work, I would suggest looking at my Google results, perhaps something there is of use.

Will try to add data to your ttle to put it out there, it seeemed like I got more hits that way:

See if these work, and tell us about it, if you could if not working:-)
