VBA Error in Excel under OS X

Below is error when running a sort on a Excel sheet downloaded from the web for debt consolidation. I suspect it maybe because created on MS but am trying to run in Excel on a Mac OSX. Am I wasting my time or can this be fixed? Appreciate feedback.

Sub sortit()
'
' sortit Macro
'

'
Range("B8:G28").Select
Selection.sort Key1:=Range("G9"), Order1:=xlAscending, Header:=xlGuess, _
OrderCustom:=1, MatchCase:=False, Orientation:=xlTopToBottom, _
DataOption1:=xlSortNormal
Range("B9").Select
End Sub
