Just a note - VB 2005 is not the latest version. (Or is 2008 still in beta test?)

Hi Everyone,
I want to ask same question. I have VB6 installed in my system. As Veena said in one of her post, about Horizontal printing of data reports, that VB6 would allow printing reports horizontal. Is this possible to download a revision of VB6 (For free) and use it to program my project that I am working on using VB6. Is there any other free version of VB that I can use to enhance functionality of my project? How different Vb6 and VB2005 are? I am using VB6 for my new project after 4 years. I don't know any thing about any other versions except VB6

Sorry to raise so many questions in one post.

Hi Creative,

I told about the "ServicePack" , It is not a complete Downloadablae VB6 free version, it is just a Patch update, wherein most of the identified Bugs have been rectified..
And Download latest VB8 popularly known as "Orcas". from MSDN Site.
it is still a beta version, but looks quite interesting.

Most of the syntax, Data Connection, is completely different there..

Veena

Just note in vb08 procedures are completely different.
especially with printing and databinding.
If you need a vb version for a project with a short deadline stick with vb6 and vb2005 since for vb08 there is limited help since not many use it.

Note: I love vb08
Also veena.please make sure you say vb08 or vb9. vb08 is vb9
I think its best to stick with vb08

I don't have vb08 on my PC. Based from your experience (as well as on others too), vb08 is quite interesting. I'll check it! : )
