If you know that the entire database is exclusively locked, how can you access that .

Is there any mechanism to unlock or allow read only lock when another .exe puting exclusive lock on the database

Try setting the read-only attribute on the MDB file before running the program, to see what happens. (It might prevent the program working, of course).

What, it actually turns off the read-only attribute? Well... um... what about if you open the MDB file (in MS Access, perhaps) before running the program. That way it cannot open the database exclusively. It will have to either open it for shared use, or fail to open it at all.
