Mailto:

canuckbulldog
I've have another question!

I've figured out how to handle a CC: inside my VB Code, but question, how can you identify a specific From:

When my Macro set's up my email (Outlook), I want the From: to be the one I select, not the system's default which right now is our personal email accounts.

Thank You!

Here's a sample of the code:

' Crée l'URL
URL = "mailto:" & FourCour & "?subject=" & Subj & "&body=" & Msg & "&Cc=" & CCNom

All the doco I've been able to find indicates that you can include parameters on the Mailto to set the recipient, subject, body, CC and BCC. No mention of the sender. You might try including a Sender or From parameter, just to see what happens, of course.

By the way, this page seems to give a good description of the capabilities and limitations of MailTo, and possible alternatives.

To go further! I have one macro string that is longer than 256 characters. How could you make VB run 2 mailto: routines back to back to enable the entire message to be sent?

According to what I've read, if you need more than 256 characters you're simply out of luck. The MailTo: option was simply not designed for that kind of thing. It was just intended to throw the user into their e-mail client with a couple of things filled in for convenience.

If you need more, I suppose you would have to start looking into alternative methods of achieving your ends.
