Query computer type

Can anyone tell me if there is a way using vba directly or via an API function to determine if a computer is a laptop?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I doubt there's even any way for Windows to tell that. The line between different "classes" of PC is largely just a matter of perception.

I could be wrong, of course.

hi

i dont know how to do it by code. but you can know it as follows

1. right click on my computer and open properties
2. select hardware tab
3. Click on Hardware Profiles
4. Click on Profile(1)'s Properties

if you can find api way to do this, then best of luck

What, you mean the "This is a portable computer" checkbox? Yes, I imagine that info could be quite handy.

So, it seems as though a bit of searching for topics along the lines of "API access to hardware profiles" might be fruitful.
