Need to capture part of a scanned page

Need an urgent help!

I use HP 8300 Scanjet to scan a page. The page consists of a barcode at the top of the page, some text information at the middle of the page and a SIGNATURE inside a square at the left-bottom of the page.
Now I want in VB6.0, define only that part of the scanned-page, where I have the SIGNATURE (i.e. the square at the left-bottom of page), and copy this SIGNATURE into a PictureBox Control.

My questions :
1- Can I directly load the scanned file, from scanner into a component (control) in my Form? If Yes, how?..... If No, do you have any other suggestion? Like loading the scanned file into a control?

2- How can I define a specific part of a file?

(I use VB6.0 as front end and Windows XP as OS)

Could you give me that help?
Many many thanks in advance.

  1. You'd probably need to check the documentation for the scanner to see how to interface to it.
  2. If you load the picture into a PictureBox or Image control, then you should be able to use the PaintPicture method to paint any selected part of it onto another PictureBox or Form.
