Hi all

Somebody plz help me.. How to store/retrieve images from the oracle8i table.

I tried using the article BLOB in this forum.. It works for SQLServer, But I want to know how to implement in Oracle. I tried that article, am getting error that Object or Block variable not set.

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. CN.Open "Provider=MSDAORA.1;Password=manager;User ID=system;Persist Security Info=True"
The above is the connection string I have given.
My table name is emps;
It has empid, empname, empimage as columns.

I want to store and retrieve images from oracle.
Somebody help me plz..

Its very urgent.

I tried several articles by using Binary File datatype, LOB etc., But still am stuck with it.

Give me an earliest response plz

Thanks in advance.

As I told earlier, I have already tried these articles. Those articles are working only for SQLServer but not for Oracle...

I tried by changing only the connection string but it saying error that Object or With Block variable not set at

RS.Open strSQL, CN, adOpenForwardOnly, adLockReadOnly

Thanks.

Hi,

You can Store Single Image in a Column, that is One Record=1 Image.
In Same Record and column, you cannot store Multiple Images, even if you find the logic to save, your Save and Retrieve processes will become very complicated.

If you want a Group of Images to be stored, then Create one Master Table and a Detail Table (Linked by PK), generate a PK and add multiple records in Detail table.
Whenever you want a set of Image, Refer to all records from Detail Table

Are you trying to insert multiple images to the single row of a table ?

Hey am not saying like storing images in a single column. I want to insert one after another as different rows..

Like inserting multiple records.

Thanks for your reply...
