Invalid use of null

I inherited a programme for my business that is embedded in ms access.
It is about 7 years old and is running on office 2000 and using windows 2000 pro.
Ok dont fall over laughing..but it has done what I need for the business..so far.

I am receiving 2 messages
microsoft access
An unexpected problem has occurred
Problem: Invalid use of Null
Number:94
Proc:Compact Data
Module:basFramework
Please contact the developer

The top message is at the front of the second message and these are both in front of a third window labelled:

Usysfrm Message:Form

I believe, but cannot verify that it may have occurred when I deleted a 0 from a cell in one of the tables. I do not recall this being a problem before.

I have seen responses in this forum to help, including inserting "" into the string.
It has been a long time since I even used DOS and am not sure how to even get into DOS anymore to change the items. Anyone prepared to help a rank amateur? I will need a lot of basic, careful explanation.
