hi
i am using vb6 as front end and postgres as back end. i am connecting it with ODBC. till now, i don't have problem in connection because i use only one network. but now, i have to connect it with another network.
first i use
xxx.xxx.x.x ip address
now i have to use also
xxx.xxx.xxx.xx ip address
for the database connection
when i use the previous ip address it works well,
but when i use the last one, it gives error message
run time error -3146
odbc-call failed.

i use the connection string as

Public Sub getconnect2()
Set ws = CreateWorkspace("", "abcd", "", dbUseODBC)
Set dbaccount = ws.OpenDatabase("", , False, "ODBC;dsn=PostgreSQL10;uid=postgres;pwd=''")
End Sub

any help will be appreciated,
TIA

Hiya coolminded!

I am not sure how this can be done. Will fetch Google see what pops up...

Hope you're okay with this, but I removed your ip info, not sure what it'll do but just someone knows what to do with ip info.

I would also ask questions in Networking forum to see what you can pull up...

In a bit!

You know, coolminded, now that I think about it, you should definitely post in Networking, having seen this run time error -3146 odbc-call failed. in your notes, I suspect you need to properly map the new network using Data Sources ODBC, (Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Data Sources (ODBC)...

Try there, and still go to Networking, talk to you soon...
