touch screen

Hello Experts,
I am now in the way to dream about action programs such as touch screen.
I want to make life easer by letting users to control their PC through finger touch on the screen. When someone touches the monitor for some duration, the program respond as it is expected. For example, if someone touches the button called "My Computer" the folder for My Computer appears.
Am I clear :if yes,

I think that to software, a touch screen generally just looks like a mouse.

Why would you need to invent it? Touch screens already exist.

they do. but i dont have one. so, i could use my current monitor, a good invention would be to create something to layer over my monitor.

I'd recommend doing some fairly thorough searching before you put too much work into it, as I have a feeling it has already been done.

If it hasn't, stop blabbing about it or you won't be able to patent it. :)

I think, what you are trying to do is without help of hardware executing software!!!

Just think your monitor (not a touch screen) is an output device then; how it possible to get an input?

If I understood that correctly, I agree. A regular monitor is only an output device. Apart from a bit of info about the monitor itself, it does not (AFAIK) have any way to pass information back to the PC. Some additional hardware would certainly be required to make it touch-sensitive.

we get Tuch Screen (both Input and Output) monitor in market itself. With support of this hardware all our programmes work fine like Mouse point as our fingure.
