Missing Library?

P: 2
I recently tried to resurrect both VB4 and VB6 and a series of programs after a three-year hiatus of not using them. The former computer ran XP Home and had Office 2000 or thereabouts. The current computer has XP Pro and Office 2007.

When I try and RUN any of the programs under 4 or 6, they hang saying they're missing something and the offender is usually a string function of some sort, such as RIGHT or FORMAT. However, 6 tells me that it's missing something from an earlier version of Office having to do with fonts?! I tried reloading both 4 and 6 from scratch with no luck. Any solutions from a guru would be greatly appreciated as the programs are a source of income!

Maybe "guru" was why noone chimed in. Whoever says they are guru are FOS. lol.

Anyway, i'm no guru but I have experienced the issue with missing library.
Usually, you'll get the message that a library is missing.
Look in Project References to see "MISSING" among the list.
This is your culprit.
Knowing this, post them and maybe someone can locate them or give whereabouts to their source.
If this is not what you needed, well - i did say I was no guru. lol.
good luck.

The problem ended up being a missing MSOC.DLL file. Apparently Office 2007 deletes this needed file!! Thanks, Bill. I found the file in one of my archives and restored it to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office and VB6 worked again.
