When I use Like it selects all the records from audit because IT word in audit.

Your query is not in proper way. and post it in Database Forums

guess you mean this.
strSearchString="it"
strSql= "Select * from tblTableName where LCase(FieldName) like LCase('%" & strSearchString & "%')
