Better method of navigating through access ?

Good morning people, i have made a program which handles & manages stock. to navigate through the records i have assigned command buttons to control the data control, however in some of the catagorys there are many items and clicking the command button until that paticular item is found can take a while. i was wondering if any of you knew a quicker method for navigating through records & selecting them, what i had in mind was a command button and when clicked it just generates a list of the items in that table and when you click the item on the list it selects it in the data control.

any answers are appriciated and thanks you for your time
