Deleting Records and Password Requirements

Hi. Im a total access and VB noob and require your much appreciated help.

I have a table that list all the vehicles in our company.

I created a form to view this information much easier with a combo box to select the record you are looking for. All this works wonderfull.

What I want to do now is create a command to delete a selected record. This aswell is easy enough.

What I need though, is some form of password protection to prevent accidental deletion of records.

The first thing I tried was creating another form with a username and password field. This works fine up until the point of deleting the record. I cant get it to delete the record on the other form.

For this method I only used something to the effect of:

if textbox1 = "blah" then
delete record thingy
end if

I dont need heavy password protection as I said so this will work fine.

The other thing I tried was using a msgbox from the main form, this I got to delete the record, but its not secure enough. Maybe there is a way to add a password and username thingy(password and username can be stored in the code, thats no worry)
