Well, for starters, what version of VB? (I don't know how to do it, but if anyone does, the version may be significant).

Did a bit of searching on Google for "VB enumerate properties control" and came up with a few possibilities. This one sounded as though it might be helpful. It is a product, but note that there is a link there to download source code, so you may find how it was done.
