Invalid ranges bug

Hi guys, in excel we're creating named ranges from the string values in cells. Some of these cells have invalid characters for range names in them, but the ranges HAVE been given these names. Now if these ranges are referenced it throws and there seems to be no way to delete them, either through the excel toolbar or in the vba. This seems like a stupid excel bug and our only currently solution is to recreate our entire workbook, and then range safe names before they are set.

Any ideas or help very welcome, thanks

yes you can, go to Insert > Name > Define... there you can delete it...

If you want to make it with VB use

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Sub DelName()
  2. ActiveWorkbook.Names("AnyName").Delete
  3. End Sub
Hope that helps
