user defined types (vb6)

isotope11
I have this code in the general declarations section of the form:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Option Explicit
  2.
  3. Type Example
  4. Value1 as Integer
  5. Value2 as Integer
  6. End Type
and got this in the Form_Load:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Dim Unit as Example
  2. Unit.Value1 = 1
  3. Unit.Value2 = 2
  4. Label1 = CStr(Unit.Value2)
  5.
then some sort of error comes out. What I have done wrong?

you only need private key in front of the declaration of type.
It will become public if u not explicity write it,
then public user defined type only allow in module

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Option Explicit
  2. Private Type Example
  3.  Value1 As Integer
  4.  Value2 As Integer
  5. End Type
  6.

Could you be more specific than "some sort of error"?

In VB6 you had a Type and End Type to define your own data types. Are the only ways to do this in VB.Net with enums, struct and class. How's the best way to define user defined types?
