Play sound on window status change

I am trying to find out a possible resolution for my and my colleagues' common issue. we have a tool at office which we monitor the transport facilities. whenever there is an update this tool will start flashing in blue as if it is trying to get the focus as in yahoo messenger when the msg comes in the taskbar icon starts flashing in blue (normally). But there are no audible indication for this. And this really prevents my night sleep as i need to constantly look at the screen. is there anyway we can do something on vb to monitor this web based tool and play some sound when an alert comes in this window or when this window gets focus. any help is much appreciated.

I'd suggest you check out the Windows "accessibility" options. Among other things, you can get it to make sounds or flash the screen when various actions happen. These are intended to make the system more easily accessible for those with hearing or vision impairment, but may also provide what you need.
