ASP compilation problem - name not declared

P: 51
I have a question about my asp.net application.

It tells me that Name 'lblMessage' is not declared.

Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific error details and modify your source code appropriately.

Compiler Error Message: BC30451: Name 'lblMessage' is not declared.

Source Error:

Line 4:
Line 5: Sub tbMessage_Change(ByVal Sender As Object, ByVal E As EventArgs)
Line 6: lblMessage.Text = "Hello " + tbMessage.Text
Line 7: End Sub
Line 8: </script>

*I copied this straight out of Learning ASP book so I don't understand what the problem could be.
This is what I have.

<%@ Page Language="VB" %>

<script runat="server">

Sub tbMessage_Change(ByVal Sender As Object, ByVal E As EventArgs)
lblMessage.Text = "Hello " + tbMessage.Text
End Sub
</script>

THANKS!!!!!

Glad we could help! :D

Seriously though, I think you'd be more likely to get an answer to this sort of question in the ASP forum than the VB one.

Just for reference by anyone who finds this thread in a future search, could you briefly tell us what the solution was?
