advantages of using msaccess as the backend with vb as the frontend

There are various things which can be taken into consideration on chosing the database that needs to be used with VB as thye front. It depends on the amount of data you are going to use with your application. Either you want a local data base or database to be kept on the server. Also the number of users those are going to access your application etc. Obviously with SQL you can use Stored procedures , functions etc which will be an added advantage.

there is no advantage just use sql server, or anything that i sql driven, it gives you more flexibility

Taftheman has quoted very correctly. MS-Access is very user friendly but sql server will take you places.
