Link an access database to Arcmap

I am trying to link an access database directly to individual polygons or
points (PGDB) in Arcmap, that is when opened the Access link would open
Archmap and then zoom to the polygons or points individual coordinate
assigned to that link.

Am programming in VBA and am looking for suggestions (code) for creating two MapControls in VB6, the first MapControl will display a zoom (say individual) polygon in a given area. The second MapControl shall be linked to the first one and will be showing an overview of the whole area area with the zoomed polygon selected (in a different colour). My database is an Access Geodatabase..or just MS Access.
