I'm trying to modify an older VB6 program and use the DateTimePicker control to give the user the ability to display and modify the system date and time. The VB6 documentation says it is available (e.g. not a newer .NET control), and is part of the Active-X (.ocx) called MSCOMCT2.OCX (in the \winnt\system32 directory), which I can see that it is there.
When I go to add the control to my project (e.g. Projects -> Components) and scroll down to the selection "Microsoft Windows Common Controls-2 6.0 (SP4)", I get this message "Name conflicts with existing module, project, or object library". I don't know how to get around this, or if there is another path I should take. I originally tried to use the Calendar control (which I can attach) for the Date portion of this requirement, and a text box (for displaying system Time, and allowing the user to change it), But this leads to seemingly overly complicated code for me to force correct date/time formats, when it appears that the DateTimePicker control already does that for us.
How can I use the DateTimePicker Active-X control in my VB6 app?
Thanks,
