Programatically get Printer Serial Number

2
Is it possible to programmatically get info from a network printer? I am trying to connect to the printer to get make, model, IP address, gateway IP, serial number, etc. Does anyone know of a way to do this? Or any suggestions of where to search for more info?

With the possible exception of the IP address, which (I think) should be available through the Printer object's Port property. Haven't tested this, though.

I have found that HP WebJet Admin scans and gets this info. Serial number too for most models. But I am still trying to find a way to make my own program that does this scan.

I expect it talks to the printer driver. As Will said, this will probably involve API calls.

Hm... le'ts see, this link looks useful: Getting Printer Properties in VB (using API's)

Also Using the Win32 API.
