how to download a file from server to desktop of my computer

i want to design a window application to download a file from server which is there in my office to the local system ie on which iam working ofcourse my system is connected to server how is it possible

If you have the server file location mapped as a network drive, you could just use a simple file copy (Eg. VB's FileCopy method) or open and read/write the files in your code.

Otherwise, what about using the Internet Transfer control to do an FTP?
