Loading EXIF data from JPEG files

I'd like to be able to access EXIF data in a JPEG file without expanding the file into a Bitmap object.

I've searched for a ready made solution for a few hours and all the existing VB.NET code I've found loads the file into a Bitmap object first with all the accompanied memory usage.

I could hard code something myself, but it feels like something someone should have done before and there's no point in duplicating their effort. Do any of you know any existing code that could help?
