thanks, but what if i want to use it in a form, for example, i have a simple program, it has 3 txtboxes, and a lstbox, 1st txtbox will show the start of characters, second is the number of rows and third is the charaters that i want to display per se, i have bunch of codes written and it did worked, what i want is to apply the concept of arrays, will it be possible? thanks...

number combinations:

if txtbox1.terxt=1 and txtbox2.text=2 then
lstbox1.items.add( txtbox3.text) ' this is the start number(1 character)
lstbox1.items.add( txtbox3.text & txtbox3.text) number of rows(2 characters)

lstbox should look like this:
_________-
*
**
________

can i apply the array in this kind of program?, thanks a lot....
