Registry keys

hi all,
i happen to come a/c Registry keys in vb6.0 - the savesetting, retrieve setting statement. the explanation given was incomprehensible. can anybody explain to me what they are and how it can be useful in vb.
any relevant links also will do.

I only have a moment, but I will say - be careful! Modifying the registry can totally stuff up Windows if you don't know what you're doing.

(I don't know whether VB's savesetting etc are dangerous or not, as I don't recall what they do. This warning just applies to playing with the registry in general.)

Anyway, stay tuned. I'm sure you'll get some useful links and info posted here.
