Vlookup!

P: 3
I am using this formula in my sheet
=VLOOKUP(A10,table,2)
A10 is a cell that has the function :Left(sheet1!"c10")[this cell is on sheet2], it contains the correct value needed for the lookup but its isnt working! Can anyone help out?
Thanks in Advance

As a debugging exercise, have you tried replacing the formula in A10 with the actual value, copied from sheet1!C10?

Also, how accurately is Left(sheet1!"c10") copied to this message? The syntax doesn't look correct (but of course, that may just mean I haven't used this particular format).

One more question - how certain are you of the precise value which is in sheet1!C10 - since you're grabbing the first character, could there be a leading space or something that you weren't aware of?
