hi there

Ive just finished making my Flash player, and I want it to associate the swf file extension when it is installed. I dont mean just when the program executes, this I can do. I want it done through the installer that is created through VB6 package and deployment wizard.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

File association? I seriously don't understand what you intend to do. Why do you have to associate file extension during installation?

I've been following swatmajor1's exploits a bit. He/she wants to be able to install this program and have it associated as the application which Windows will invoke for SWF files. So that when the user opens a SWF file, this new application will open up to play it.

All is well

I've found a program that is more efficient then VB6 package and deployment wizard, in ease of use, options and file compression.

It called Self-Extracting Archive Utility by Gammadyne. It allows file associations within the installer, including icons.

Thanks again
