VB5 help

P: 3
hi, i'm a student and i'm doing a program in VB5. It should allow the user to input an ID and then choose a seat(an a plane). But if one user chooses seat 3 for example the next user shouldn't be able to choose it. I.e Error message. I can validate the ID using an array and linear search but i have no idea how to stop two people from choosing the same seat.
Any help would be great

Have you learned how to do any file access yet?

Probably the simplest thing would be to write out the selected seats to a text file. Before doing so, read the file and see wether anyone has beat you to it.
