Binding Keys

I have been looking around for a way to bind a key such as f12 to run a function in my program but i want the key to globally run the function such as i am in this IE window and press f12 my function in my app will run if you have any links or help on this i would appreciate it. Can't find much about binding keys the way i am doing it now is basicly making my program a keylogger.

Did you try to use the Windows API RegisterHotKey?
