listindex is the 'linenumber' within the listbox

I see you've already had one response, but allow me to expand on it a little.

The .Index property is used when you create a control array. That is, a number of controls of the same type on the same form, with the same name, just differentiated by their index number, much the same as an ordinary variable array. It's a useful and efficient way of dealing with a bunch of similar controls on a form. So regardless of what type of control it is, Index has nothing to do with the contents.

You already know what ListIndex is for.
