Device ID in SerialPort

I am trying to find the Device Id of a Serial Port, specifying the com port such as Com3. It should return the device parameters, including the serial number of the port. I have tried all searches within Visual Studio, but do not find how to do this.
Any ideas?

Platform is XP
Visual Basic 2005

don't know abt vb2005
in vb6 using mscomm control it's ID = MSComm1.CommID
