Excel Automation

P: 1
I am an experience VB programmer and have used Excel for years. However, when I tried to use Excel Automation to do a simple job of reading a two column spreadsheet into a VB array, I got stumped. I can't even figure out how to open the workbook. I've look in MSDN for examples and haven't found any relevant ones. I looked in my library of VB and Excel books and found nothing. VB Intellisense is virtually useless in this area. Can someone please send me a few lines of code with annotation showing me how to do this. I am using Visual Basic Express 2005 and Excel 2003.

Thanks
Dan

You are using vb.NET so answers on this forum may not be accurate.
In vb6 you need to include a reference to excel in the project and intellisense will pick up the objects. You declare an excel app and worksheets etc and away you go.

Happy Excelling :)
