Automated dialer...

... or at least I think that is the English name for what my boss suddenly dumps in my lap. He wants an application that will call given phone numbers at the push of a button, and when the person in the other end answers, the application transfers control to the user who can start to speak in his headset.

Nice. But how the heck do you do it? Where do I start?

I guess there must be classes out there with phone functionality - does anybody know where to find them?
