VB 5.0 runs fine on Windows 2000 but not on Windows XP

1
I support a vb 5.0 application which runs fine on windows 2000. We are now starting to have users running the application on windows xp machines and are running into the following issues.

connecting to a LAN server using FTP

login password expiration logic which checks if the date the password was last changed is over 60 days old - user is never prompted to change the password when password has expired whereas on windows 2000 logic works fine.

Another issue encountered is that when the application is installed you need to change the date regional settings on the control panel. Windows XP does not have this option

I am trying to get a windows xp machine and installing vb 5.0 in order to debug the application

If anyone has any knowlege of windows xp & visual basic 5.0 compatability issues it would be a great help. Wishfull thinking but could it be something as simple as created a new executable on an XP machine??
