visual basic-picturebox

hello,

I want to simulate paint application.so I have a picture box control and draw something using pset member function.now i want to save that picture box.but if i do so only empty picture is saved. i didn't get the drawing i did using pset function.

can anyome tell is picture box a suitable control to simulate paint??
if so how can i save the dynamic changes i made in picture box using pset.

Hi

How can you save the picture in the picture box ?
U can save the pset values and color information of the picturebox
to a file. U can write a code such that , in your form design u can open that
file (which contains pset values and color information) , which reproduce the same image by reading the pset values. On opening that file , pset and color information should be read and using this pset information u can draw this in a picture box.

Or if u tried anything in a better way , reply me.

Check out the SavePicture function. Also, if you find you are saving a blank image, it might be due to the AutoRedraw property.

what if i have turn on the autoredraw property but the drawn images still not appear in saved file.. should i turn the property on before i start draw anything? gosh, i have drawn so many... :(

Yes. I don't recall the technical details, but basically, anything you do with AutoRedraw off is not copied to the permanent bitmap. That can be very useful, because it means you can draw things on a picture, then just use the Cls method to erase everything temporary, back to the "permanent" state.
