whats Get function for in VB 6.0

hi,
i want to know wat Get function do in VB6.0 .here is a piece of code in which it is used but i m not able to understand...can any body help????Dim Ending

this variable test is not defined any where .is it possible in VB to use a variable without defining it?

GET is a form of file i/o, used for accessing binary files. The specific examples you have here are returning single byte values from the data source. There is a thread here covering reading files, at:

As for the variable - yes, it is entirely possible to create variables in VB without DIMming them, if the source file does not include the OPTION EXPLICIT directive. This directive instructs the compiler to require the definition of the variables before they can be used.
