VB6 app

Hi, I have an VB6 app that draws a vector graphic scale model and prints it
on a stardard lettersize or A4 sheet of paper.
I just got an query from a fellow who wants to output the drawing full size
(approx 48" x 96") to a "GCC Explorer Laser Engraving and Cutting machine"
which apparently uses a Coreldraw interface and printer driver.
My question is, how would I go about exporting the drawing to Corel?

Have you tried just printing to the printer and letting Windows and the
driver sort out the details?

No, I haven't. I don't have access to it as yet. Afaik, the GCC Explorer
Laser driver accepts HPGL parameters (which Corel speaks) - I suppose the
ideal solution would be to have my app send those same parameters presumably
in HPGL - or am I way off base here? (I have no idea how to accomplish this
btw)

The key question, which your query fellow has to answer, is whether the GCC
shows up on his computer as a printer, meaning he goes to his printer folder,
and sees it listed; or he clicks Print... in some program and the GCC is listed
as one of the printers he can select. If so, then you should certainly start by
just printing to it - there is a good chance the drivers will take care of most
of the details. The large format Plotter they use at work, for instance, works
this way - pick it as your printer, select a paper size, and off you go.

Understood. That does seem the natural way, and yes the GCC does show up as
a printer on his system

On further investigation though, apparently what my customer needs is the
ability to modify the drawing in Corel, i.e. add graphics and
cutting/scoring parameters -so it seems the problem is back to exporting the
drawing (preferably) as a vector graphic. Could it be sent to the clipboard
as a metafile(?) and pasted into Corel from there?
