Dim var as Stream - Visual Basic 4 / 5 / 6

I often end up with Stream type variables when I type quickly and don't put
in the extra character to get a String. Decided finally to look up and see
just what they are, and had no success with my MSDN Library. Just what are
Stream variables used for in VB6?

You must have ADO 2.x Referenced in your project. Some data sources provide
a Stream object which is simply a 'gulp' of binary or string data.

Lookup ADO Stream Object for more details.

Be aware that Streams and their abilities are determined by the data source
and current provider. It is an excellent idea, but not often used aspect of
ADO due to the variablity. (Of course the minute I say that someone will
come back saying they have used Streams for years with never a hitch. <g>)
