Connection To SQL Database

hey all,
i want to create a client application to connect to a MySQL server
on the internet so that multiple people may access the data from around the
world.
Is there a simple way to do this?
The mysql server is setup and configured i just need to be able to connect
to it

Any suggestions are greatly apreciated

First you need to download and install the MySQL ODBC client

http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/3.51.html

Then put code like this in your app to connect to the database then open the
recordsets as you normaly would under ADO because it is IP based it will
work for any one who has an internet connection.

Replace the xx.xx.xx.xx with your IP address replace the database name and
the user ID and password with a real ones and it should work.

note that the MySQL databse and the ODBC client are licenced under the GPL
so if unless you want to pay for the databse you may also be required to
ship you code as under the GPL
