It's been 15 years since I did any Basic programming, so
I was wondering if I could get some help.
I want to display the contents of a .txt file in real-time
as the file is updated. I don't want to just copy the entire
contents, but only update the scrolling window with newly
added info which I can scroll back to see previous updates.
Anybody out there willing to take on this project?
Thanks

P.S. OS is Windows 2000
Big Fred,
There are a number of details left out here (such as how the file will be
updated), but this may at least give you a starting point.
I used VB5 to try this out. Putting a Rich Text Box (RTB1) on Form1, I set the
scroll property for RTB1 to vertical, under Filename I entered
"C:\setuplog.txt" (the file just happened to be available).
The text file was shown in RTB1 even before I started the program, the window
does scroll and I can edit the text. Adding some code to save any changes
should be fairly easy.
Hope this at least gives you a starting point.
