installer dialog

One of my W2K PC is used to evaluate tools for VB. So lots of things get
installed and uninstalled making trouble shooting problems that come up a
nightmare.

I was wondering if anything like this has happened to anyone.

When VB6 is run, an installer dialog would come up (looks like the msi
installer "preparing to install" dialog). You can click cancel and continue
working but it sure is annoying. If you don't click cancel it will give an
error unable to install.

This also happens to a certain number (not all), exe. When the exe is run,
the installer window would come up.

What the heck (or what app) might have cause this nightmare?

Any advice is appreciated.

I've no idea what is causing the problem, perhaps others will know

However I strongly recommend that you use Ghost or Powerquest Drive
Image to backup and restore the image of the drive

You might also be wise to invest in a few drive caddies
