MAPI In .NET

Ky
Hi

I'm writing a small app to send email and need to use MAPI so that the user
can just select their Outlook profile and what not and don't have to know
anything about their SMTP server. [MAPI doesn't seem to exist as it did in
VB6?]

If anyone can point me in the direction of any sample code I'd be much
appreciative.

Thanks

You need to ask in a .Net group (with "dotnet" in the address).
This group is plain VB.

I have no idea of how to send mail in .Net but I might be
able to tell you something useful:

This program is for a private company where you
know for certain that everyone has Outlook? If not, you can
skip that limitation by getting the server from the Registry -

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Account Manager

xxx = value from: "Default Mail Account"

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Account Manager\Accounts\xxx

default server address is value: "SMTP Server"

default email is: "SMTP Email Address"
