Here's the problem: I want to use VB to launch arbitrary applications
with specific X/Y coordinates (for both position and size). To do
this, I', using CreateProcess, and setting the STARTUPINFO structure's
dwX, dwY, dwXSize, and dwYSize elements. I'm pretty sure I've got
that down, because many apps (for example, Notepad) obey what I tell
them.
But many other apps (Internet Explorer, Media Player) seem to ignore
these settings and open up someplace else. I guess they remember
where they were last closed, and open up there.
What am I missing? Is this info ("last closed position") stored in
the registry? I have a bad feeling about messing with the registry,
because I don't want to mess it up - plus the positional information
*appears* to be stored with different keys for different applications.
Any help would be appreciated.
